IBM Distributed Server Management (UNIX)-Project Services in ATHENS, Greece

Job Description

Perform distributed server management (UNIX) services, including design, implementation and customization of products and technology in a AIX Distributed environment, in a Project Services business model; Project Services can be time-bound projects delivered to existing managed services clients or standalone services delivered to clients. Project services typically involve heavy interaction with the client in support of concluding the project to meet the client's requirements.

Should be able to plan, coordinate and implement software (AIX) version changes and use utility tools to monitor elements of the system, such as memory, central processing unit (CPU) and program errors generated from a system or software problem.

Provides technical assistance and guidance to technical support team members and application developers, understanding the complexities of infrastructure design and maintenance, be able to analyze architecture and security issues, and perform advanced troubleshooting.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Minimum of 3-4 years working in a production support and system administrator.

Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering or related field.

Fluent English and Greek (written and spoken) is required.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

Experience in working in an Insurance Company (Production-Operations ), Windows and Linux Environments with strong emphasis on Workload Automation and Systems Monitoring.Hands-on experience managing efforts in Unix (AIX), POWER environments, distributed systems large-scale web applications as well as strong understanding of database technology.

Experience with shell scripting

Expertise with Storage attachement, monitoring and troubleshooting tools

Experienced in Virtualization technology

Experience with Power VM

Experience with high availability technologies of operating systems ( AIX HACMP).

Experience with Backup Tools.

Knowledge of Cloud Computing concepts

Strong customer focus
